    While reading the chapter, Where I lived in Walden on page 59 I came across an interesting point Thoreau made. He said “ To be awake is to be alive. I have never yet met a man who was quite awake.” That particularly statement really stood out to me because I feel it can be so easy to go through the motions of life that you do not even know you are doing them. In our last class discussion on September 10th, we talked about how we as students grow up go to school, go to college, and are expected to get a good job. Maybe it is all relative to how each individual perceives being “alive”. Thoughts? Do you think it is easy to get swept up into the motions of life? Or do you think it is relative?
