In chapter 8 of Walden Thoreau wrote “But, wherever a man goes, men will pursue and paw him with their dirty institutions, and, if they can, constrain him to belong to their desperate odd-fellow society.” I Think Chris wouldn’t just like this quote but would agree with it. This quote describes how he feels about society. It shows how a society can effect someone and how Chris desperately wants to escape it. Not many people can leave a society because they just get sucked back into it by man or means. This quote could be the reason why he wanted to live outside society and in seclusion.
My Walden is in my backyard. Down past my field lies a small woods. When entering a small trail that I made and hiking down a tiny hill you reached a break in the woods where a creek splits the ground. Across the creek there is a bent tree where I could just sit for hours watching the leaves fall from the trees making ripples in the water.
I think that using this site will be difficult until we get use to it. It will help us understand the book better, and interact with other peoples opinions.
