I posted annotations in paragraphs 30, 39, and 85.
1. My favorite place to go for a walk is the beach, even though that may seem a little stereotypical considering we live in Florida. My favorite beach to walk on is Redington Beach, near the pier, and at sunset. I walk the beach for about 20 minutes, waiting for the sun to fully set. While walking on the sandy landscape, there is something so breathtaking about watching the sun fall just below the horizon while beautiful shades of pink and orange fill the sky. I also love admiring the pier that was severely damaged by Hurricane Irma but still manages to stand to this day. The pier serves as a reminder to me that no matter how many obstacles get thrown at me, I can always overcome them. It is also a major advantage that I live 5 minutes from the beach so I get the opportunity to watch this magical scene take place everyday.
2. When things from my everyday life, such as school and cheer, start to build up to the point where I can’t think about anything else, this beach walk allows for me to clear my head and put things in perspective. Taking a walk, whether it be on the beach, in the forest, or in a park, is a great escape from the reality of the real world and let’s you take a step back from everything. When I am walking on this beach, watching that beautiful sunset, I realize that nothing is too big for me to conquer and that I am capable of more than I give myself credit for. Taking walks doesn’t just help me reduce stress and anxiety, but they let me appreciate the fact that I live in this beautiful world and I should never take it for granted.
