In the Village, Thoreau said “I was even accustomed to make an irruption into some houses, where I was well entertained, and after learning the kernels andvery last sieve-ful of news, what had subsided, the prospects of war and peace, and whether the world was likely to hold together much longer, I was let out through the rear avenues, and so escaped to the woods again. Chris can relate to this quote because he escaped all of that by going into the woods. He was once entertained (I hope), he probably knew about the prospects of war and peace then one day he just wanted to get away. Then that one day came and he escaped to the woods to never be heard from again.

Conflict- two opposing forces that go ar it (Man vs Society)

Thoreau said “I went to the woods I wished  to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach,and not, when I came to die, discovered I had not lived.”

It shows how much of a transdentalist he is. How he feels its important to enjoy the basic, natural, simple things in life, rather than unnecessary luxuries in life.

He just wants to live with out all the luxeries in life. He just wants to be surrounded by nature and survive off the land. In todays society there are so much more luxeries than there were before like the xbox one, ps4, iphone 6+. He would be disgusted to see all these people wasting their lives on technology not enjoying the wilderness and what is going on around them.

I feel content at Dan’s house because he’s my bestfriend and his MUM is the best. When i go over to his house i feel like I am in my own house. I do not feel out of place it’s like my second house.

It’s kind of nice to use technology (computers) because computers are my cup of tea. I am an avid PC gamer, so computers are like a second nature to me. Although it is nice to have the book online on this website but reading isn’t very fun for me. I never really took an interest in reading but maybe this will change.
