Participant@GracePatterson – I agree, taking walks is very calming and gets me in a good headspace. Even though I sometimes use them to decompress, I enjoy going with a friend and talking with them as we walk. Even though I can’t do that now, it was fun yo do that before, especially because neither of us wanted to spend money going somewhere and it gave us a way to just hang

ParticipantI really like Fort De Soto as well, and wrote my own response about it. Besides how nice the area is and the wildlife you can see, I love going to the snack shop/ grill that they have located near the beach. Even though exercise is fun and all, nothing tastes better than food and ice cream after a hot morning at the beach or after a walk on the paths, especially if you get there mid-day when the heat is unavoidable.

Participant1. Since most regular activities and places that I usually go to have been closed, I would go for a walk at Fort de Soto. I’d go in the morning around 9 or 9:30 AM when the sun is out, but there would still be shade from the palm trees that would make for a nice walk. Walking or rollerblading for an hour or so is a good workout and relaxing experience. Laying out on the beach after that makes for a nice and calm day. There are so many walking paths you can go on in Fort de Soto, so it is a good place to go without running into huge crowds of people. In addition to the asphalt and paved walkways, even walking casually on the beach by the water is also very nice. Any beach in general would make for a good experience, especially if you go to a less populated one so that you can walk in peace.
2. There are many values in going for a walk. According to my mom I’m “getting some fresh air” and not remaining in a room all day on a computer breathing recirculated air. It gets you in the sun, which could lessen the chance of getting a cold. Taking a walk grounds yourself, it keeps you in touch with nature and allows you to appreciate how beautiful our home is. I can appreciate that while some states are having awful rainy weather, here it is sunny and breezy and a perfect beach day. Taking a walk is good for mind and whole body. It is nice to be outside away from all the technologies in our daily lives.
