Crescent Lake Park has pathways while in Thoreau’s writing, he prefers to take the “road not taken” and go off the pathways. But this is where I go to take a relaxing stroll with my dog.

I absolutely love the sounds of nature and walking near some body of water. Going outside is just so calming to me. And yes, it does feel like summer already with this beautiful whether!

• To go for a walk and just clear my head, I would go to Crescent Lake Park which is near downtown St. Pete. The reason I chose this as my thinking spot is because it’s just so familiar to me. My parents used to take me there all the time when I was little. I learned how to ride a bike there and master the difficult challenge of monkey bars. Familiar places make me feel more comfortable but I still like to explore new paths occasionally. Crescent Lake Park has a large lake filled with all sorts of creatures such as ducks, geese, turtles, and fish. Outside the lake in the open area are flocks of birds such as ducks, geese, and cranes. I like to walk in the mid-morning so around the time frame of 9am to 11am before it gets too humid. I usually go for jogs with my dog around the lake and I sometimes bike there too.
• Jogging, walking, biking, and any form of exercise really, helps clear my head. By clear my head, I mean taking time to process what’s currently going on with my life without the constant dinging of my phone. It’s just me, my thoughts, and my music. But I do like to just turn my music off, sit on the bench, and listen to the birds and rustling trees in the wind. Taking time alone to just enjoy nature really does help your mental state because you get a break from the constant routine of daily life. Also, taking time for yourself is important so you can take care of others.
