I think Chris McCandless would get along with Henry David Throeau alot. In chapter 8 of Walden, Henry says “These take place only in communities where some have got more than is sufficient while others have not enough.” which is saying that people steal things from the wealthy people in soicety. If all the people in society lived like Chris and Henry then there would be no theft. Chris believes you need what helps you survive. He does not believe in wanting things only needing. If everyone lived life like these two men then in their opinions then theft wouldn’t be necessary.
The setting in walden is the cabin in the woods near waldens poud in 1845 – 1847.
The reason “I went to the woods because i wished to love deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could no learn what it had to teach and not, when i came to die, discover that i had not lived. I did not wish to love what was not life, living is so dear.”
I think that he would hate society today. On page 74 it says “I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life”. He is saying that he moved into the woods cause it was man like. If you go out into the world today it is really hard to find a place that is miles away from anyone. And today going out in the woods doesnt make you a “real man”. He would hate the world today.
My walden is my bed. There is not much on this earth that is better than a bed and sleeping.
I think it will be beneficial and enjoyable in a good way. It will allow the students to read to the book or listen to the book so students who dont like to read can just listen to it. There will be a few technical difficulties but after those are fixed i think it will be an overall goods experience
