Hi all! Looking forward to meeting you all in Gothenburg soon! I’m an assistant professor of environmental humanities at Linköping University here in Sweden–on the other side of the country from Gothenburg, closer to Stockholm. I moved to Sweden in fall 2015 from the US.
I study and write about c19 US literature, history, and culture, focusing on environmental humanities, the history of medicine, and the history of racial formation. My presentation for this symposium emerged out of my parallel life as a yoga teacher, where in my studies of the philosophy and history of yoga I found a kinship with Thoreauvian writings and ideas.
Safe travels to Sweden and see you soon!
