In the novel Into The Wild Chris has a certain resentment toward the government. He states “How I feed myself is none of the government’s business. Fuck their stupid rules.” this pretty much shows how much he doesn’t like the government and their rules that are enforced upon people. Chris would like the quote “I was never molested by any person but those who represented the state.” from Walden. He would have liked this quote because it shows the flaws of the government. The government does nothing but try to make money and limit the freedom of those it attempts to govern. In Chris’s mind everyone would be better off if there was no government at all.

One of the most important literary element is conflict. The conflict in Walden is between Thoreau and society. He’s not really in tune with how materialistic the society that surrounds him is. He believes that you can take the best things out of life when you’re not surrounded by things you don’t need #society.

In a way Thoreau would think bad of  today’s society. We live in a world where we are constantly trying to impress other people. We feel as if the more things we have the better our life will be ,but we’re so wrong. We fail to look at the most wonderful things in life because we are constantly getting more than one thing. “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” This is also explains that paying attention to little things makes life so much more enjoyable. Today my generation covers themselves in “stuff” the ridiculousness of our materialistic ways blocks us from seeing the best things there are. Thoreau would wish for everyone one else to see as he does and be able to enjoy the things they can’t see.

I feel completely at peace when i’m creek walking to the Warsaw falls. The running water makes for relaxing noises and feeling the cool water swish past your feet make you feel completely revitalized. Yupp…

I think it will be beneficial for the most part, but also slightly boring. Considering it drags on….and it’s old…like Mr.Conway…lawl
